This radiator is a direct bolt in replacement for LS engine swaps, bolting into the Big Block radiator mount positions. All bolt hole mounting locations are positioned properly to allow for easy installation. The big block radiator is a couple inches longer than the small block radiator, if you look at your core support in your vehicle you will notice that on the driver side there are 2 sets of mounting holes. The holes closest to the core support opening is for the small block radiator. The other set of holes is for the big block radiator
The engine side of the core is covered by a full aluminum shroud with dual 12" integrated fans. This shroud will help the fans to pull fresh, cool air, through every cubic inch of core area, while preventing the recirculation of hot engine air under the hood. The dual 12" high performance fans are pulling 3200cfm of air. This kit does not include the electrical kit for the fans, if you will need this please be sure to add it to you order.
This radiator is 7" from the face of the fan motors to the surface of the mounting flange of the radiator. If this is too thick for you application we do have a variety of applications that are thinner.
We HIGHLY recommend that you verify the hose connection sizes that you need for your application. If you need different diameter we can accommodate, PRIOR to shipping your order. If you realize AFTER the product has shipped to you that you need a different size, their will be additional fees.
The standard core for this radiator has 2 rows of 1" tubes. The tubes are space 3/8" apart, on center. Some manufactures space their tubes1/2" on center. With 3/8"centers we are able to put allot more rows of tubes, fins, and coolant volume in the core as well as create allot more surface area for air to travel over......allowing for greater heat dissipation. The fin count on this radiator is 16 Fins per inch. This radiator is available with 1.25" tubes.
The radiator is available with or without an internal transmission cooler. The transmission cooler that is used in this radiator is a high performance 7-plate cooler, not a concentric style like you would find in the original radiator. Most customers do not inquire about the tranny cooler, so this is an easy area for a manufacturer to cut some significant cost. The cooler that we use has more than double the cooling capabilities of the OEM. The fittings in the cooler are 5/16 inverted flare ( same as the oem radiator)
The filler neck is machined from a solid block of billet aluminum. This is a very strong type of filler neck that will not get damage during shipping and will not become deformed over time as with the stamped filler necks that many manufactures use.
The core is fully furnaced `brazed and is not epoxied. This unit is fully TIG welded. We do not MIG weld any portion of our products. you can find out more about these features in our FAQ page.
